Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents

The Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents is the official publication of presidential statements, messages, remarks and other materials. This publication is printed every Monday and contains documents such as Executive Orders (see Executive Orders law tip), Proclamations, Bill Signings, Interviews With the News Media and Meetings With Foreign Leaders.

GPOAccess contains Compilations from 1993 (v. 29)-present that are searchable from 1993 forward and browsable from 2001 forward. Westlaw (WCPD) contains the Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents from January 1995. The Wirtz Labor Law Library also receives the print version of the Compilations going back to 1966.

Some of these presidential documents such as Executive Orders and Proclamations are required to be published in the Federal Register. Therefore, documents of this nature, can also be found in the Federal Register and in "Title 3 -- The President" of the Code of Federal Regulations. The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) on GPOAccess contains Title 3 from 1997-present and the Wirtz Labor Library has Title 3 back to 1936.

Another electronic resource that has a library containing the Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents is Hein Online. This resource covers 1965-2003. Documents are available in pdf format.
